Our castle hotel in Haselünne has won the weekly season of "My Heavenly Hotel" at the TV station VOX. After evaluations in the categories house (location, appearance), room (facility, comfort, cleanliness), service and breakfast (freshness, variety), we have the hotel comparison with convincing 93 percent won. The Royale season was broadcast between 22 and 26 June 2015 as part of the visit of the English Queen Elizabeth II in Germany. Under the motto "Living like the Queen" four different castle and castle hotels were shown, where you can lodge in historic walls. As always, the hoteliers visited and evaluated each other and in the finale chose the Burghotel Haselünne as the "Heavenly Hotel". The Burghotel Haselünne was opened in 1979 by the Berentzen family in the "Haus Russell". Owner Friedrich Berentzen always set great store by the preservation of historic buildings in the construction and expansion of the hotel. With great attention to detail and the history of the grain and Hanseatic city of Haselünne, the hotel was extended in style in several stages.
The use of historical buildings, under strict observance of monument protection, always played a very important role for the founding Berentzen family. This was even honored by the award of the Federal Prize for Monument Protection to Mr. Friedrich Berentzen by the Interior Minister Zimmermann in the 80s even by the federal policy.
